Back-to-School Blends – Set the Tone for a New Season

Written By: Robin Lander

For many of us, summer is winding down all too soon, and a new school year is ramping up. With the shifting of routines, focus, environments, and sleep schedules, we’re looking for new ways to reenergize, stay centered and healthy, and get to bed on time. For formulators and aroma enthusiasts, it’s the perfect opportunity to craft back-to-school blends to make the transitions easier.

Essential oils can help you design the ideal ambiance for inspiring creativity and teamwork, cracking the books, gathering with like-minds, and easing into the evening wind down. Bright citrus and herbaceous aromas can refresh and uplift, while tranquil woods and florals can help the pivot into calmer activities. We’ll share some of the top aromas for these pursuits, along with simple ways to make them part your every day.

    Final Tips

Don’t forget to label your blends well, especially if you plan to carry them with you. Try giving them fun names that evoke a sense of support or routine, such as Game On, Study Buddy, and Lights Out. By choosing aromas that match the energy you want to experience, your back-to-school blends can help you set aromatic routines that support your sensory needs and intentions. Enjoy the new beginnings!
