Product Overview

Our very special organic Rosehip Seed CO2 Total Extract is a carrier oil renowned for its many benefits for the skin due to the presence of skin-nourishing vitamin E, all-trans retinoic acid (a form of vitamin A), essential fatty acids Alpha-Linolenic Acid (Omega-3) and Linoleic Acid (Omega-6), phytosterols, and Oleic Acid (Omega-9).[1] The vibrant depth of color in this oil indicates the presence of beneficial carotenoids[2].  All of these constituents are ideal for improving the appearance of mature or sun-exposed skin, helping to create a moisture barrier and supporting skin elasticity. Rosehip Seed CO2 has a silky and luscious feel that maintains the texture and softness of skin.

Rosehip Seed CO2 carrier oil is extracted from the seeds of the wild Rose, Rosa canina, which can be found in many parts of the world and native to Europe, Asia, and Northern Africa. The hips of Roses are the fruiting bodies – the reproductive part of these exalted flowers – that develop post-fertilization. When the petals fall, the hips enlarge with seeds that are notoriously rich in vitamin C – about 20 times as much as oranges.[3] However, vitamin C is a water-soluble nutrient and therefore does not appear in the CO2 extract or in the cold pressed oil.

Please note that the low temperature CO2 extraction process (up to 104˚F/40˚C) for carrier oils ensures a product that more closely resembles what is found in the raw plant material and has a longer shelf life than cold pressed carrier oils.[4] In addition, CO2 carrier oils meet strict heavy metal requirements and contain no carbohydrates, protein, or inorganic salts.[5]

Our organic Rosehip Seed CO2 contains a small percentage of Rosemary Antioxidant CO2 – Organic  to help maintain freshness.

Flash Points: What They Mean for Formulators

You may have come across the term flash point when working with essential oils and wondered what it really means. Technically a safety specification, flash points are used to classify materials like essential oils for handling and transport, but they can also influence how you choose to formulate with them.

Chia and Cacay Eye Oil for Dry Winter Skin

Winter has a magical way of transforming the landscape with beauty, but it sure can be tough on the skin. Cold temperatures, low humidity, and dry indoor heat are particularly harsh on the delicate eye area, often leaving skin feeling tight and looking fatigued.
