Product Overview

The ancient Egyptians regarded Lotus as a sacred flower symbolizing the sun and creation; it was often depicted in the hieroglyphics and art of Upper Egypt.[1] This particular species of lotus, Nelumbo nucifera, was introduced to Egypt from Persia[2] and is now cultivated in India and throughout the world in tropical pools.[3] Living with humans for about 7,000 years, Nelumbo has developed many notable features and strategies: extraordinary seed longevity (2000 years), rhizome viability (50 years), and unmatchable water repellency (known as the 'Lotus effect' and adapted for industrial use), to name a few.

This divine aquatic plant can flourish in stunningly clear pools or the murkiest of muddy marshes and then, with dignified grace and equanimity, break the water’s surface to unfurl its iconic petals and enchanting fragrance. The lotus flower has been associated with purity, beauty and enlightenment amongst several religions, including Buddhism and Hinduism. It is also mentioned in the Greek Myths, most notably Homer’s The Odyssey. The aroma of Pink Lotus Absolute carries a long lineage of the sacred that can add unparalleled depth and elevation to perfume creations and anointing oils.

smell of tulips plus earthy

Rating

I decided to buy a sample of this one after smelling a lotus absolute in an aromatherapy session a year ago, all I can remember is the smell of gorgeousness and luxury, in a natural way. But when I smelled this one, the smell of tulips from my childhood instantly came to my mind. so far I have used it in a roll-on blend with rose abs, linden co2, tonka abs, a bit of ylang and neroli and it smells sweet, powdery (to my surprise), and floral. definitely a unique note (with the smell of tulip flowers) plus an earthy note, worth trying more in blends.

An acquired taste

Rating

Red/dark pink and chunky thick. Smell is like a pack of those candies that come in a package and shape like smarties but are larger and chalky (can’t remember the name). Also has a just freshly opened pack of cigarettes smell to it. I was expecting a ylang, jasmine like scent, but nothing quiet anything I’ve ever smelled. Diluted down to 10% in ethanol, and that brightened it up a lot. Have one blend out of a handful that it actually stands out in, even with 30 other materials along with it. The quality of the material is like everything else they have, great. Definitely worth trying a small sample, but dilute it 10-20% and spend some time with it.

Out of my mind IN LOVE

Rating

This is by far my favorite oil to date. It smells so lovely mixed with citrus that I can't believe my nose. At first whiff I couldn't appreciate it but after it bloomed in the bottle, OHHHH MYYYYYY. Next, I will purchase the white one and see what happens, if it's anything like the pink, I will write another review to reflect my experience. I will continue to check the comments to get tips from this community concerning what it mixes best with. If you purchase this oil, you will not be disappointed.

Etherial

Rating

This scent is strong and soft at the same time. Floral and green. But, more than any other oil I have had the experience of - this one is best described by the experience and feel for me - I get Air, Water and Light . It is the perfect note to round off blending with my other most precious oils and nothing else would do.

Unpleasant.

Rating

Really unpleasant smell. Nothing floral. Strong root smell. Super dark and bitter. Can hardly smell after diluting it to 5%.
