Product Overview

Our exceptional Balsam Fir essential oil has a very sweet, rich, deep balsamic, evergreen aroma and a light, clean terpenic top note like that released from freshly crushed fir needles.

In the eastern United States, Abies balsamea is the holiday season's tree of choice where, in days gone by, the sweet-smelling needles were sewed into sachets and sold to weary city folk![3] Bright and elevating, Balsam Fir essential oil is one that we highly recommend for use in diffusers to refresh the environment in enclosed spaces, especially in the winter months.

Coniferous trees such as Fir, Pine and Spruce, are truly the guardian trees of our planet‘s atmosphere, with their dense profusion of cleansing molecules constantly being released from the highest canopy to the outermost needles, and even in the underground world of the 'wood wide web'! In addition to the usual suspects (α- and ß-pinenes), chemical analysis of needle tree oils shows a broad variety of aromatic monoterpene molecules – a signature of fresh coniferous forest air – and accounts for why these trees are often referenced in the practice of Japanese 'forest bathing' or shinrin-yoku. This oil is a welcome ally to inhale after a day in the city or a long drive, as it enlivens the spirit with every breath.

Delicious!

Rating

So different from spice, crisp and camphor of other fir oils, this is warm, sweet, rich. Almost smells edible. One of my favorite oils to use in forest blends. I dare say I even love it more than Balsam of Peru. Yum!

Mango Jam

I don't know about standing in the forest but I do know this is sweet, jammy. I want to eat this now! Never stop caring for this.

True forest smell

Rating

This is a really lovely classic "Christmas tree" scent, without any of that harsh undertone that so many other fir oils have.

Balsam Fir Steam distilled

Rating

Smells very nice, reminiscent of a christmas tree but does lack the very slight cooling feeling reminiscent of a very mild camphor (think rubbing fresh needles under your nose) that i was looking for. Perhaps the absolute is what i am looking for, will try it next time.

More than met my expectations

Rating

When I was ordering I really had no intention of picking this oil. Tiffany suggested I try a sample. I really didn't expect much as I have a Balsam Fir that I enjoy very much. When I opened the sample I could not believe my senses! I felt like I was standing in the middle of a forest of fir trees. There was obviously no comparison to the other balsam Fir I have. I use this oil with copaiba and frankincense for a pain reliever that beats all. I cannot wait to try it with your oil. What a truly beautiful oil!
