Solubility & Blending Suggestions

  • Depending on the type of product you are formulating, you can use between 2% to 100%. For skincare, we suggest combining 2% - 20% Cacay Oil with 80% - 98% of another carrier oil, or a combination of other carrier oils, such as Sunflower Oil - Organic, Jojoba Oil, Golden - Organic, or Marula Oil – Organic. For a massage oil, we suggest 10 - 50% Cacay Oil combined with other carrier oils such as Fractionated Coconut Oil - Organic.
  • Soluble in fixed (carrier) oils and insoluble in alcohol.

    We’re pleased to introduce Cacay Oil, a relatively new carrier oil known in the beauty industry as Amazon Gold. Cold pressed from the nut of rainforest tree and unrefined, this remarkable oil has quickly gained its reputation as a potent revitalizer of skin and hair. The secret is in its unique composition that includes three times the retinoid content of Rosehip Seed Oil, 50% more vitamin E and twice the linoleic acid of Argan Oil, plus as much squalane as Olive Oil [1]. All that, AND it feels amazingly lightweight on the skin!

    Cacay, also known as Kahai Oil, is suitable for all skin types including dry, oily, congested, and sensitive. Containing around 70% linoleic acid, an omega 6 essential fatty acid that supports the skin’s own protective barrier against water loss, Cacay provides superior emollient properties without heaviness in serums and creams for mature and dry skin.

    Formulators turn to Cacay Oil for facial care, lotions, body oils, and eye and hand creams where it can help improve the appearance of dark spots, imperfections, uneven texture, and elasticity. It also excels in nail, lip, hair and scalp care, soaps, beard oils, after shaves, and any product designed for luxurious, long-lasting moisturization and smooth, glowing skin.

    The Cacay tree is native to the tropical rainforests of South America where it can grow over 40 meters in height. Naturally resistant to pests and diseases, it does not require pesticides or irrigation and is an important part of reforestation and environmental restoration in the Amazon. Our Cacay Oil is made from nuts sustainably grown on plantations in Colombia where they are cold pressed without the use of solvents, chemicals, additional additives, or genetically modified organisms. In addition, our producer applies eco-friendly practices and Fair Trade principals to improve the welfare of the harvesters and surrounding community.
