Product Overview

Our certified organic and unrefined Plum Kernel Oil is a lightweight, silky-smooth carrier oil pressed from the fruit kernels of Prunus domestica. It has an irresistible, mild almond/marzipan-like aroma and contains high percentages of the skin nourishing oleic and linoleic acids as well as a complement of other fatty acids. Unlike many carrier oils, Plum Kernel Oil features full-spectrum Vitamin E tocopherols (predominantly γ-tocopherol), lending significant antioxidant activity, as well as traces of a variety of very long-chain fatty acids so beneficial for skin.[1]

Only widely available in the last 5-10 years, Plum Kernel Oil is noted for its beautifully light texture that is ideal for skin care and cosmetic applications. It is well-suited for facial serums, lip, hair and scalp preparations, body oils and, due to its stability and nourishing elements, is a perfect addition to baby care products. The delicious aroma is gentle enough to collaborate well with other oils while delivering a delicate layer of lubrication and moisture-retaining properties.

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (aka Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs). Our Plum Kernel Oil supplier observes the principles of SDG #15, Life on Land: “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.”[2] The plum kernels used in the production of Plum Kernel Oil – Organic are upcycled from the material left over from processing the fruit.

Miracle Oil

Rating

This oil is the best I have ever used. In addition to keeping my skin silky soft, it has improved my skin by giving it a glowy and moisturized appearance. I don't even need foundation. I also use it on small cuts to heal them quicker. And just a small drop gives bounce to the ends of my hair. The scent is a lovely light almond scent. I would highly recommend this oil.

Amazing

Rating

This oil smells heavenly, sweet fruity notes that would be great in a perfume or body / face oil formula. It is a light weight oil that is absorbed beautifully into the skin. Highly recommend.

Animalic Aromas – Notes of Warmth, Leather, and Musk

Have you ever wondered what perfumers mean when they describe a scent as ‘animalic’? In perfumery, the Animalic aroma family refers to essences that evoke the warmth and intimacy of living beings – notes that are musky, leathery, sensual, and sometimes just a touch ‘dirty.’
