Product Overview

Our Carrot Seed Oil is cold pressed from the seeds of Daucus carota Sativa, a cultivated form of Wild Carrot native to Europe and Southeast Asia. It is a fixed oil, not to be confused with the essential oil steam distilled from the seed, or macerated oil from the carrot root. This highly antioxidant and nourishing carrier oil has a distinctive fresh, earthy aroma and is ready to be added to your revitalizing facial serums, creams, and skin care products.

Carrot Seed Oil is known for its remarkable ability to enhance skin tone, brighten the complexion, and improve the appearance of sun-exposed skin and imperfections. Rich in beneficial Omega-6 Linoleic acid, Omega-9 Oleic acid, and vitamins A and E, it supports the skin’s natural barrier, helping dry and mature skin retain moisture and suppleness. Palmitic acid helps give the oil a smooth, luxurious texture and non-greasy feel.

Formulators add Carrot Seed Oil to facial cleansers, soaps and shampoo, scrubs and exfoliants, eye creams, sun care, and cosmetics for lip, beard, and nail care. Its supreme conditioning and softening properties are particularly useful in products for dry hands and feet. It is also a favorite for scalp and hair care, helping clarify the scalp, improving the appearance of hair growth, and adding luminous shine to hair.

Our Carrot Seed Oil is unrefined and produced from upcycled seeds, making the most of this raw material. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species has assessed Daucus carota Sativa as ‘Least Concern’ making it an excellent choice for sustainable skin and body care.

Can I Use Absolutes in Cosmetic Formulations?

As a formulator, you may have come across the recommendation to avoid using absolutes in cosmetic formulations. Because absolutes are solvent-extracted materials, some older references suggest they are unsuitable for aromatherapy or topical use.
