Overview

Indian Jasmine Absolute - 10% Dilution

Our Jasmine Absolute from India is intensely floral, very sweet and tenacious, with a deep richness and a somewhat musky and coumarin-like undertone. It is a bit richer/denser than our Jasmine Absolute from Egypt and harmonizes well with almost all other essences. Due to its powerful aroma, we recommend diluting it before blending with other oils. Only a hint of this precious oil is needed to impart elegance, balance, and smoothness to perfume creations.

Jasmine has been among the principal ingredients of more than 80% of all quality perfumes and a third of all men’s fragrances.1 The sensual aroma is exhilarating and playful, and according to Patricia Davis, brings together the fiery dynamism associated with the masculine aspect (yang) and the soft earthiness of the feminine (yin).2 The uninhibited aroma evokes lightness and joy, setting the stage for physical awareness and imagination. It is no wonder that the flowers, thought to awaken the spiritual nature of intimacy, have been used traditionally in some cultures to decorate the bed of newlyweds. In magical spiritual traditions, Jasmine is used as a devotional anointing oil and is worn for blessings and good luck.3

One look at the chemistry of this seductive aroma explains a lot about its sensual appeal. Amid a bouquet of complex flowery esters, including methyl anthranilate, is the queen of floral aromas, indole, but only if smelled in low concentrations; it occurs naturally in human feces and, at full strength, has an intense fecal odor. At very low concentrations, however, it is intensely floral and appears in some of the sweetest blossoms – for example Narcissus, Jonquil, Honeysuckle, Champaca and Neroli – and is highly regarded in natural perfumery. The aroma of Jasmine is said to blend with virtually everything and is an indispensable ingredient for the natural perfumer.

This product is diluted for ease of use and contains 10% Jasmine Absolute India in 90% Fractionated Coconut Oil – Organic. For the pure and undiluted version of this oil, please see our Jasmine Absolute, India.

PLEASE NOTE: Jasmine Absolute is intended for use in perfumery only. If you are interested in using Jasmine for aromatherapy applications, please see the high-quality Jasmine Organic Extract that we carry.

Smells like jasmine Gardens Review by

This jasmine oil reminds me of jasmine bangles that indians used to make and sell on the streets. It smells so nice, just like a jasmine garden.

I'm in love! I've lusted for years after Jasmine but have not had the funds to purchase the pure stuff. My search is over. It's been over 2 years since the most recent review indicating it is a weak Absolute. I disagree, and find this to be one of the strongest Absolutes on my shelf (and I have just about all of them now from Eden). Floral yet musky, ethereal yet rich, I've used this in several of my blends now. Works beautifully in a sensual and sexy blend I call "Flow" - Jasmine, Amber, Rose, Argarwood, Sandalwood and Bergamot. And most recently in blend I call "Queen" which is reminiscent of the oils used by queens from ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt and the Arabia - Jasmine, Moroccan Rose, Frankincense, Atlas Cedarwood, Cypress and Bergamot.
Yum. Yum. Yum.

I find the aroma faint, and even when I apply 10x the amount I would use of the full strength Jasmine India, it fades much faster. It also didn't smell the same to me as the 100% Jasmine India; it reminded me a little bit of Jasmine C02, but milder. Though more expensive, I'll be buying the regular version of this Jasmine instead.

This is gorgeous, with none of that chemical smell that Jasmine's sometimes have. Flowery, heady, just beautiful.

Even diluted this is a rich exotic Indian Jasmine. Like the jasmine bushes that bloom in spring and summer. Absolutely beautiful. Great for any perfume base.

Rich and floral perfume absolute of Indian Jasmine. More along the lines of what a jasmine bush would smell like walking past it in the springtime. Beautiful to any perfume palette.
