Essential Oils S-U
On This Page
Spearmint, Thyme, Tea Tree and Blue Tansy are several valuable therapeutic grade essential oils that you will find on our S-U page. Tea tree oil is of particular importance in aromatherapy. It has been extensively researched and has a long history of use in Australia. It has been found to be active against all three kinds of infectious organisms: virus, fungi and bacteria. Tea tree oil has also been known to be immensely helpful in stimulating the immune system to protect itself against all three types of infections. Therefore, it has been used with great versatility in treating many situations – including skin conditions (acne, herpes, cold sores, fungi, dandruff, warts and even burns); the respiratory system (asthma, coughs, sinus infections, etc.), women’s health for treating vaginal yeast and other infections; and of course – in treating respiratory problems, colds and ’flu. Produced mainly as a flavoring agent Spearmint Oil has been used for centuries for its restorative properties. With similar properties to Peppermint, only less powerful, Spearmint essential oil has been adapted for use in treating children’s maladies including headaches, hiccough, indigestion, colic, and nausea. Also noteworthy is Turmeric, an ancient remedy for arthritis and rheumatism, and an excellent anti-inflammatory that is beneficial in treating digestive problems.
And for the perfumer’s palette, the precious woody notes of Sandalwood and Spikenard are wonderful fixatives and base notes in masculine fougere fragrances and woody orientals. We offer two types of Sandalwood oil – Sandalwood essential oil from Vanuatu, and Sandalwood Absolute from Australia. Both are excellent alternatives to the nearly extinct East Indian Sandalwood oil. The Australian Sandalwood Absolute is very subtle and is perfect for use as a lighter base and fixative in sheer compositions such as floral bouquets, citrus and colognes. Spikenard is another precious woody note, and we have both the essential oil and the CO2 extraction. This musk-like aroma of this root has been prized since ancient times for its therapeutic, calming and fragrant qualities. In perfumery, it complements Agarwood, a note with which it shares a mossy, musky, earthy woody-root aroma. And last but not least – the queen of the night – Tuberose Absolute, one of the most precious flower essences in the world, renown for its intoxicating, creamy white floral fragrance.

According to Patricia Davis, Spikenard is an especially comforting oil for those who are experiencing deep inner pain over the suffering caused by natural or man-made disasters.
