Details

According to the IUCN Red List, Santalum album is classified  “vulnerable” - ecologically threatened as a result of its highly desirable heartwood, used for furniture, carvings, statues, incense and, sadly, essential oil. Encouragingly, this singular, semi-parasitic tree has branched out with new species thriving in managed plantations in favorable ecosystems such as Hawaii and Australia. Though oceans apart, try to smell through the continental variances and find the central core that is the heart of Sandalwood – whether you prefer it accented one way or another, it’s there in every case.

Overview

Oils in the Sandalwood Aroma Family include the following (subject to individual availability).

Sandalwood, Australian - Premium 1 ml: Use: Aromatherapy/Natural Perfumery. Light, fresh yet typical Sandalwood aroma with warm creamy undertones and deeper, more pronounced woody notes in the drydown compared to our other Australian Sandalwood oils.

Sandalwood, New Caledonia 1 ml: Use: Aromatherapy/Natural Perfumery. Harvested from an island neighboring Vanuatu, this fresh, woody, sweet, and Santalol-rich oil is an affordable alternative to Indian sandalwoods. Warm, slightly sharp, rich sandalwood aroma.

Sandalwood, New Caledonia - Extra 1 ml: Use: Aromatherapy/Natural Perfumery. This fresh, santalol-rich oil provides a sustainable alternative to Indian Sandalwood oils with its warm, sweet, smooth, precious wood aroma & long lasting, drydown. Its smooth, deep aroma is longer lasting on a scent strip than our Sandalwood from New Caledonia (SKU 906).

Sandalwood, Royal Hawaiian - Organic 1 ml: Use: Aromatherapy/Natural Perfumery. Harvested from a plantation committed to reforestation, the calming aroma of this exceptional oil is smooth, woody, deep & full-bodied and it has amazing longevity when applied topically.

Sandalwood - Plantation Grown 1 ml: Use: Aromatherapy/Natural Perfumery. An excellent Santalum album essential oil, grown in Australia, with an aroma that is very much like the old Mysore sandalwood from India.

Sandalwood - Powder (3 grams): Use: Body/Skin Care. Ultra-fine powder with the light, sweet, woody aroma of Sandalwood. Useful in various skin care applications from masks to exfoliating scrubs; makes an excellent base for incense.
