Overview

Organic Fresh Ginger Essential Oil

Our organic Fresh Ginger essential oil is made from newly harvested, rather than dried ginger rhizomes, giving it a lively and intense, mouthwatering aroma. This oil is a superb choice for personal care, cosmetic and skin care applications, where the milder, distilled (essential) oils of Ginger are recommended, rather than the more pungent and very concentrated Ginger CO2 extracts.1 Approximately 1 kilo of essential oil is obtained from about 150 kilos of fresh rhizomes.Natural perfumers will certainly find themselves dazzled with the effervescent quality of Fresh Ginger.

Zingiber officinale is native to the tropical coastal locales of India and is cultivated in most tropical and subtropical regions: Jamaica, southwest India, Indochina, Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), West Africa, south China, south Japan, and Central America, with smaller crops grown in Madagascar, Zanzibar, Indonesia, northwest Australia, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and other areas of the West Indies.3 The historical usage of Ginger is geographically and culturally vast and it is considered one of the oldest and most important aromatic plants.4 Ginger was highly esteemed by the ancient Greeks and Romans who obtained it from Arabian traders via the Red Sea.5

Despite its long and storied history, Ginger Root essential oil has only more recently been included as a must-have in the collections of aromatherapists, natural perfumers and massage therapists alike. Many find it useful in massage formulas, both before and after exercise, and in chest and foot rubs. Inhaling the invigorating aroma of Ginger is an elevating experience for the senses that is enjoyed in many ways across cultures – and particularly while traveling between them. It has been reported by ethnobotanists that women in Senegal and Fouta-Djalon weave the rhizomes of Ginger into belts with the aim of engaging the dormant senses of their husbands.6 We love it in perfumery or diffuser blends to bring an ambiance of warmth and intimacy.

This oil has my favorite qualities of ginger. It is alive, fresh, vibrant, and zingy. The smell is exactly like juice from a fresh rhizome. I highly recommend this oil over the others for a true and alive ginger aroma.

Sparkling like Champagne, vibrant and slightly zany! Review by

This one is so much fun! It's sparkling, it's youthful, it's vibrant, like Champagne. It actually smells exactly like when you bite into a piece of fresh, raw ginger. Bonus: it is organic! No idea right now of what kind of blend I shall make, but it's a fun "pick-me-up" which I'd imagine, just sniffing it, would enliven a dark depressed mood, wherever needed. A mini-party (for one) in a bottle, or bring some for all your friends! :) It's like the scent of New Year's Eve.

You know that scene in when Harry met Sally when Sally fakes an orgasm in the middle of the crowded deli? That was me smelling this E/O! I LOVE ginger i always go to the cabinet and open my crystalized ginger jar and enjoy the sweet warm ginger fragrance and this is it. I wanted to make a ginger and citrus perfume after i made a ginger and marmalade jam this winter and WOW this is perfect. ORDER A BIG BOTTLE if you are a ginger head like I am trust me you wont regret it. this is fresh, zingy, crisp and like someone else said I can kinda detect a slight rosy scent!

Hello GL. We're sorry you were disappointed in the quantity of Ginger Essential Oil you received. Please know that our products are sold by volume, not weight which is most likely the reason for the discrepancy. Please contact us if you need any further assistance!

The most astonishing ginger I've ever had the pleasure to smell. Freshly grated a moment before ...warm, yes, but fresh warm ...citrus-y....rose-y!
A mood altering scent. The world a brighter more possibility-filled place. Eden Botanicals once again shows their commitment to world class quality. You will not be disappointed. You will be inspired.

I had been looking for a fresh ginger oil to replace some I had from a company that went out of business. After several tries, I've found my replacement! Excellent quality, zingy, spicy, with a citrus note that's absent in oil made from dried ginger.

I received the order--in Hawaii--just three days after ordering it.

The difference between standard ginger EO and fresh ginger EO is really day and night. I was surprised at how vibrant and colorful this EO is. It's perfect with sweet orange and with other spices like anise, clove, and cinnamon.
