Overview

Rose Geranium Essential Oil - Unsprayed

This is one of the finest Rose Geranium oils we have sourced – its aroma is sweet, green, leafy-rosy with a fruity/minty undertone and a sweet rosy drydown. While somewhat more expensive than other Geranium oils, it is still only a fraction of the cost of true Rose oils and is particularly appropriate if seeking an exceptionally clear, rosy note.

Native to South Africa, the Pelargonium genus includes around 270 unique species and is considered one of the most adaptable and modifiable in the botanical world. Producing a veritable symphony of aromatics, it boasts scents of rose, ginger, apple, coconut, strawberry, mint, nutmeg, citrus, pepper and more that are released from glandular leaf hairs, or trichomes. This enormous diversity of aromatic constituents, created for adaptation to many different habitats, is almost unequaled in the plant kingdom.1 One could say that the Geraniums show great character and creativity while having the ability not only to get along with, but fully integrate within a multicultural botanical populace. When it comes to aromatic formulation, we know many aromatherapy enthusiasts and natural perfumers who would agree!

Geranium essential oil is prized for its beneficial and astringent effects in skincare2, particularly for oily skin preparations, scalp blends, after-shaves, and foot and leg lotions. The calming aroma is said to be both centering and sensual3 with inspiring qualities. It is favored in women’s blends (especially with Clary Sage and Lavender), and its versatile nature makes it ideal for body and massage oils of numerous types. We find it beautiful in a diffuser with Sweet Orange essential oil.

Fruits, floral Rose, green, frankinsence Review by

Geranium rose is champagne like, this fragrance remember garden rose.
A bottled floral green note strikes first to give way to the memory of a champagne, bubbly of pear and apple nectar, absolutely fruity, floral, warm and moist rose with depth of frankincense and musk. It's not shocking, but I like it because it's very diffusive and long-lasting. It shows that it will have exceptional performance.

This blows the previous rose geranium I used out of the water (Not eden botanicals). This scent is so rosy, clean with that leafy geranium scent in the middle. I’m putting this in a simple face mist of distilled water, Edens rose geranium and a few drops rose Otto. I think it will make a great gift as well. Refreshing in the summer relaxing and restorative in the winter.

This is the kind of Rose Geranium I love. Has such a sweet and wonderful smell. I used to get my rose geranium from a vendor in WA state that have recently retired and this is as good as theirs. So happy with the quality.

Staggering Beautiful Scent Review by

I see people are all over the place with their reviews but I for one love this company, their service and their oils. And this Rose Geranium is no exception. This is a staggering beautiful scent all own it's own but a perfumers dream as the possibilities are endless.

Ticks hate this! Review by

Ticks are not repelled easily and this is the only place I’ve found that uses the specific variety of rose geranium that they hate. I do not like the smell of geranium in general. At all. I’ve purchased different brands that actually smell like rose, but they do not repel ticks! I use it on dogs, and my family.

I would not consider this a rose geranium. I bought samples of geranium that smell exactly the same. I wanted the more floral scent so I am disappointed. I know the smells I keep geranium on hand.

What I've been searching for Review by

This is what I've been looking for. This is the geranium that I prefer. It's not 100% identical to rose oil but it's a great substitute. I had this from a different source, I was wearing it by itself and people assumed it was rose oil, I had to explain that it was actually geranium. Very unique among the different types of geranium oils.

Did I get a different one? Review by

I must have a different oil to the ones described here. I got this geranium specifically to mix with rose and provide the dewy greener note that geranium supplies mixed with the soft floriferous aspect that "fills out" rose. This does not do that at all. It is rose in the respect that it is seemingly full of geraniol and citrenellol, but to me this is a harsh, almost brassy smell. None of the softer, greener elements that I associate with geranium are there. It smells to me more like an isolate than a complete essential oil. I used it in the end to reconstruct a rose scent mixed with other isolates, and I got a good if very citrussy rose scent, but when I mix it with rose itself, it overpowers, I find, Very strong, very geraniol/citronellol, and none of the soft, green or watery minty aspects.

One thing for it, I used a tiny bit neat on the beginning of a cold sore near my lip and it cleared it up overnight. I think this oil would be excellent in skincare generally as it is clearly geraniol rich.

Geranium: check. Rose: check. Review by

This Rose Geranium is like 65% Rose and 35% Geranium scent (it's actually a Geranium from the plant family Geraniaceae for those that didn't know) but the Rose part stays longer than the Geranium. It's obvious why it's used as a fake rose filler scent, but for good reason: it has more of that light rose smell that many people like rather than the intense and heady scent many of the actual rose cultivars can have. Eden's version – at least the batch I received April 2015 – has a faint citrus undertone (probably the citronellol constituent) and at first I think I even detected a minty/camphoraceous quality, though that disappeared quickly. Anyways, this is as near a perfect Rose Geranium that I've ever smelled. Final note (pun intended): it softens to a soothing, almost powdery scent at drydown. Take me away (bath then zzzz...).

Sweet and grassy Review by

I purchased this product to extend the rose fragrance in lotions containing small amounts of Rose Otto. It is definitely very strong and heavy. It does smell very sweet but has a grassy, minty overtone. It is probably one of the best geraniums I own. Definitely worked for the my purpose.

This recent batch is a little more green and less rosy and powdery than the last batch. At first it seemed definitely to be a top note. But a week later there was a beautiful fresh clear geranium leaf aroma on the perfume strip.
I love Geranium for many reasons: its aroma, it is a great blending oil, is said to be an adaptogen, emotional balancer, stress easer, and great for skincare especially for mature skin.

I use this in most of my facial care products for mature skin synergized with Frankincense and other oils. It is quite effective in deodorants alone or with a blend of lavender oils.

Beautiful, sweet, floral Geranium Review by

This Rose Geranium is nice and floral, not too herbaceous and great for skin care for its balancing benefits (sebum production and hormones). It is really hard to find a nice Geranium with a more floral note than herbaceousness. This one is especially smooth and lovely. Another great oil from Eden Botanicals

The description of this beautiful geranium eo is exact. The absolute best geranium I have ever seen. It eliminates the need to add rose in a blend. Wonderful just by itself!
