smell of tulips plus earthy Review by

I decided to buy a sample of this one after smelling a lotus absolute in an aromatherapy session a year ago, all I can remember is the smell of gorgeousness and luxury, in a natural way. But when I smelled this one, the smell of tulips from my childhood instantly came to my mind.
so far I have used it in a roll-on blend with rose abs, linden co2, tonka abs, a bit of ylang and neroli and it smells sweet, powdery (to my surprise), and floral.
definitely a unique note (with the smell of tulip flowers) plus an earthy note, worth trying more in blends.

Red/dark pink and chunky thick.

Smell is like a pack of those candies that come in a package and shape like smarties but are larger and chalky (can’t remember the name). Also has a just freshly opened pack of cigarettes smell to it.

I was expecting a ylang, jasmine like scent, but nothing quiet anything I’ve ever smelled.

Diluted down to 10% in ethanol, and that brightened it up a lot. Have one blend out of a handful that it actually stands out in, even with 30 other materials along with it.

The quality of the material is like everything else they have, great. Definitely worth trying a small sample, but dilute it 10-20% and spend some time with it.

Out of my mind IN LOVE Review by

This is by far my favorite oil to date. It smells so lovely mixed with citrus that I can't believe my nose. At first whiff I couldn't appreciate it but after it bloomed in the bottle, OHHHH MYYYYYY. Next, I will purchase the white one and see what happens, if it's anything like the pink, I will write another review to reflect my experience. I will continue to check the comments to get tips from this community concerning what it mixes best with. If you purchase this oil, you will not be disappointed.

This scent is strong and soft at the same time. Floral and green. But, more than any other oil I have had the experience of - this one is best described by the experience and feel for me - I get Air, Water and Light .
It is the perfect note to round off blending with my other most precious oils and nothing else would do.

Really unpleasant smell. Nothing floral. Strong root smell. Super dark and bitter. Can hardly smell after diluting it to 5%.

Thank you Eden Botanicals for providing this rare material. I ordered White Lotus and Pink Lotus together to compare them. I've been curious about them for a long time due to their symbolic meaning. I have only witnessed pink lotus in teas; yellow lotus growing in ponds here in the southwest U.S; and experimenting with dried white lotus petals. I diluted mine down to 10% in alcohol. As far as I can tell, the absolutes don't quite capture the scent of the lotus fully (which is normal) but it can be a great starting point to add more oils and create a rounder, more balanced, blend.

The diluted pink lotus absolute juice is a yellow golden color. It's more subtle in strength than other absolutes I've tried. It's sweeter than white lotus and more floral. Slightly spicy in the way that saffron is spicy not the way clove is spicy. It's very much a marshy scent with a slight darkness. It reminds me of the earth underneath and around fresh water. The pink lotus is slightly animalic, which is one of the facets that I find very intrigueing. It reminds me of a pond or the stones in a pond. It also reminds me of jasmine, not as a similar scent at all, but that it has a sweet floral quality that contrasts with a darker heavier side. It has an edible facet to it too - I could see a sauce made out of it - I know the entire lotus is edible. There is a minty quality that I can sense in a very smooth subtle way. There is a slight fruity quality, more in the line of papaya or guava though - thick, damp, meaty, fruit. I think the absolute could use something lighter and fresher to lift it up and brighten it. Pink lotus seems more tenacious than white lotus. It also has a certain 'femininity' and romance to it.

This blends well with other bright floral, green, and earthy notes. I've made a fragrance based around the pink lotus that I am very happy with. I'm still having trouble with the white lotus as it seems a bit more delicate to me.

Lotus Should be POTUS Review by

At once alarmingly vivid as it is subtle, this is perhaps the most wonderfully complex scent to have crossed my nostrils. Words fail to describe it, however I will try: water, flower, light, color, fruit, spirit. It reminds me of some dream where there is warm, clear water, bountiful flowers, and ancient temples devoted to love and beauty. This is a serious must-have and my only qualm with this oil is its rarity and price--which really makes it all the more mystical and precious. A treasure to savor, for sure.

Deep watery floral Review by

This is a treat! A deep, sweet, watery, earthy floral. A powerfully cooling and relaxing scent, this absolute is soft yet distinctive. I couldn't shake the image of glistening ethereal ponds with wafting lotus blossoms when smelling this for the first time (and every time after). Inspiring yet grounding, it is incredibly balanced and never cloying and it creates a wonderful skin scent. It does have a slight green, mushed-petal note in it (maybe it's what gives it it's earthiness quality). It has features of a musk and is quite enticing, it's sweetness reminding me of lucky-charms marshmallows, but maybe the kind the Buddha would have snacked on. I'm obsessed.

This really takes me to heaven, its delicate yet robust, sweet but not offensively so, and well it has to be up there with one of my most precious favourites. At some point I can smell the muddy pond and the buddist expression comes to life, No mud, no lotus. I could quite happily live in a muddy pond, so long as pink lotus was there :)
