Definitely lifts up florals Review by

It truly does lift up and make floral notes and other "hard to fix" heart notes stand out in a natural perfume. I tend to use butter CO2 when other fixatives do not seem to hold. I will be buying again.

Dreadful stench: smells like cheese or rancid ghee! Review by

I'm so sorry! I placed this order for the butter Co2! I'm so glad I bought others samples because, instead of smelling divine like European creamy butter, this is reeks of B.O.! Awful does not begin to describe it. Unless I got a perished sample? I once bought ghee and it was delicious. I bought another during the summer and it had turned and smelled rancid, EXACTLY like this sample. I dreamed of the gourmet blends I was going with this gourmand scent. Sadly, I'm so sorry to tell it like it is as I smell it and: it's a dud!

Very interesting, I like it when the first sniff (friends and family like it too). Can't wait to try it in making perfume.
This is a must try if you like gourmand notes

Heavenly gourmand note! Review by

Wow, wow, wow! I was looking for a natural "milk" note to create an Earl Grey tea inspired perfume. By suggestion of Eden Botanicals amazing staff, I purchased this and tinctured some black tea. I whipped this little butter note into the blend, plus some FCF Bergamot and WHAM, Earl Grey. It IS buttery at first but goes into a cream accord on the dry down. It just takes some futzing with. Here's a tip: Dilute your oils/raw materials first before using so you don't waste these precious notes getting the blend the way you want. A staple in natural perfumery! Go butter baby, go!

Natural Dairy Cream Note Review by

I was looking to add a "milk" note to one of my natural lotions. This fits the bill perfectly. As others said, it's not the popcorn butter fragrance you find elsewhere with (mostly) synthetics, but a true dairy cream fragrance--like sticking your nose in the milk carton. I'm now imagining all the gourmand blends I can create with this oil!

Thank you for shipping this and all of my oils so quickly :)

When I received my sample I think I was expecting the smell of fresh, solid sweet butter--I was surprised to be met instead with the OTHER true butter smell, the almost piercingly salty, melted version. I have not diluted this yet for use in blends but it is unmistakably buttery and concentrated. Saving my sample for when inspiration strikes; I can see keeping this in steady quantity once I commit to crafting some gourmands.

Makes everything better Review by

I've tried quite a few synthetic butter FOs, which all smelled like nasty movie theater popcorn. This butter is infinitely better, probably because it comes from the real deal. It's rich, creamy and has the fatty-oily texture. I use it in quite a few blends, and have yet to be disappointed. It pairs marvelously with any vanilla, cacao absolute, most citrus, and baking spices like cardamom, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. You can also get a really amazing "Brown butter" note by adding tonka bean into the mix! Absolutely in love with Butter CO2!!

Incredible Review by

It smells offensive out of the bottle but just a drop will do you for a rich popcorn flavor, and it actually blends incredibly well! It's my secret ingredient in a light floral blend which gives it depth. I am in newfound appreciation for it. If you're up for a perfume design challenge, bring on the butter! Hint- use it first. ;)
