androgynous child replacement Review by

Eden botanicals screwed up by taking androgynous child off the market and replaced it with mystic winds. It's horrible. I don't like it, my friends and family don't like it. It's caused me to stop shopping with Eden Botanicals. I feel double crossed by a loved one.

Complex, unusual, wood resins dominate Review by

It is an unusual and complex scent that grows on you like sushi or cognac. I didn’t like it initially but it has grown on me, since I now appreciate the musky, resin, woodsy scents which seem a bit stronger to me than the sweet floral scents. If you are open minded and want to explore a unique scent, try it because it is unlike any other scent I’ve tried. This is a scent that comes off strong and intensely resinous at first but after that fades, you can smell the more subtle florals sneaking through.

ok but doesn't replace androgny's child Review by

i ordered this years ago because you no longer have androgny's child blend. i was told it was the replacement for it because something in the original blend didn't suit your commitment to organic ingredients or something. it's ok but doesn't come close to the original. it doesn't last the same way and something about it is just off.

This is an enormous amount of ingredients! Take a page from Many Aftel who averages 9 ingredients in a natural perfume.

How nice to discover a blend created by someone who obviously knows what they are doing. I find this to be exceptionally complex. It retains of life of its own for many hours. Moreover, it reminds me of a trip I took the Middle East years ago. There were incredible oils and resins everywhere.

Mystic Wind is unique and mysterious. Lovely!

... but i can barely smell it. it seems more like a 1% dilution than 20%, and fades altogether within minutes.

acquired taste Review by

This is my 3rd review of this. I open this bottle about every six weeks. It's getting better! lol.... It's a similar experience as when I first tasted scotch whiskey - hated it. But after years of sampling, I enjoy a wonderful single malt whiskey. I'm beginning to be able to discern all the different wonderful smells in this blend. Quite unusual and exotic.

I've sampled all of Eden Botanicals' essence blends, all of which are wonderful, and I would say that for me, this one is second only to the Amber Essence Oil, or maybe even competes for first place with that one. If I had to describe this scent in five words, it would be "lightly candied cashmere ginger lily." Initially, it comes across as a pleasant scent in which the woods dominate, but after just a few minutes on my skin, I get what smells distinctly like ginger lily to me, with the wood essences and amber giving it a fuzzy "cashmere" quality, and it also comes across as slightly gourmand, maybe because of the vanilla. It is definitely sweet, and I'm clearly going to have to graduate to a full-size bottle of this. Love it! :)

As it ages the Peru dominates Review by

I got my bottle of this blend elsewhere, and it was an older version, so I am not sure if it is the same recipe. I like it, but I would advise Eden to reduce the Peru a bit. After it ages, the Peru dominates, which makes it a little too sweet and spicy for my tastes. I have played around with it and added more cedar and most everything else that is in it minus the sweet stuff. I like my version a bit better. I gave some of the Eden version to my friend who likes it very much and agrees with others here, it reminds her of Christmas, but I don't see that. This is my first post here, so let me just add for the record that I admire and respect the folks who run this operation. If I was rich and allowed myself all the luxuries I love, I'd be your best customer. Your prices are generally affordable even for me though, the tightest of tightwads you would want to ever meet. The quality never disappoints, so thank you for being one of he standard bearers in a world too full of mediocrity.

Harsh notes, unbalanced blend Review by

There is something off about this blend. It's incredibly harsh and astringent, the notes feel unbalanced, and I'm not getting great development through the layers. I feel like this was either an off batch or needs to be reformulated.

I gave this a one star and it is still not my favorite but it is growing on me a bit. I don't think I'll ever be thrilled with the smell but I'm beginning to be able to differentiate the different oils.

I love ordering from Eden Botanicals. I have liked/loved everything...until now. I can say that I really REALLY don't like this AT ALL. I just got it today and can hardly tolerate this smell. I could say even worse but I will refrain for now and will post later again -- after I have smelled it a few more days. Sorry, Eden, but I don't like this. It smells like cheap perfume. I'll update again in a few days.

Eau de Multiple Personalities Review by

This is by far the most complex of EB's essence blends, and I love the way it changes personality partway through the drydown. Just about the time you decide it's wood, wood, and nothing but wood, the florals suddenly pop out and turn it into a completely different fragrance. I only wish this blend lasted a little longer on my skin; otherwise, it's just about perfect.

I definitely get the frankincense in this, it gets to me a very regal and wise feel to the scent. But the ginger mild tangy note keeps it from feeling heavy. I won't call this a feminine scent but It totally can be worn by women, which its the type of scent I like anyway. Very addictive and hypnotic.

I ordered 2 samples of this product and I'm still not sure what to make of it. I don't like it personally but yet i don't dislike it. It has a VERY diverse blend of notes and i cant quite put my finger on why i keep smelling it, yet haven't grown to like it,,, perhaps it is JUST LIKE THE WIND, you feel it but you cant see it. I feel strongly towards this oil but i cant SEE why. Great NAME FOR THIS PRODUCT thats for sure.

This blend is so nice. It's different than I expected, definitely "woodsy" in appeal, but smoldering with amber and sandalwood. I love it. I can pick out distinct essential oils every time I sniff it and it stays with me for hours.

This oil blend took me back to exploring the mountains and small towns in colorado in early spring. It has a crispness that is entangled with a coniferous scent. So refreshing. I wore this often around christmas time and had many compliments on it!
