Cypress Leaf Essential Oil - Organic

Highly valued in medicine and as incense by ancient civilizations, Cypress is still used by the Tibetans as a purification incense.

Cypress does not easily decay (thus the Latin name "sempervirens" - lives forever) and is perhaps the primary reason why the Greeks used Cypress wood to sculpt statues of their gods.

Cypress Leaf essential oil is an important oil for respiratory conditions, cellulitis, and poor circulation; it has a calming, soothing action on the mind. It is also used in perfumes and colognes as a tenacious fragrance component.

Our organic Cypress essential oil is an exceptional quality and a wonderful oil.

Aromatherapy Uses: Astringent, antiseptic, diuretic. Especially helpful for excess of fluids: nose bleeds, heavy menstruation, edema, sweating (particularly the feet), etc. Respiratory and venous decongestant. Calms ruddiness when used in skincare preparations.

Safety Considerations: Not to be used during pregnancy.

Customer Reviews for Cypress Leaf - Organic

From the Oils Room... Review by Eden Botanicals
In our experience, Cypress Leaf oils on the market are often rectified or redistilled and much of the important sesquiterpene constituents have been removed for the questionable benefit of a light, fresh, “superior” aroma. They will be cheaper. True Cypress Leaf oil is not light and fresh. It shares some chemistry with the Cedarwoods and Cistus so “dry, dirty” notes will be present. These constituents, which are part of the whole plant, have additional therapeutic benefits and we have many practitioners and skin care manufacturers who adore this oil. (Posted on 6/18/14)
Beyond Horrible Review by Delanie
What I received bears no resemblance to Cypress Leaf oil. It smells dry, dirty, with a hint of medicinal balm - not the woody, watery, beautiful Cupressus sempervirens I've aquired from other sources - at a cheaper price, no less! Everything else in my order exceeded my expectations (including the freshest, sweetest peppermint I've tried so far), so don't let this negative review steer you away from this company as a whole, but beware of this one. It's disgusting, and I'm sad because I LOVE cypress oil. (Posted on 6/16/14)
