Overview

Wild Grown Palmarosa Essential Oil

Our wildcrafted Palmarosa from Nepal has a smooth, fresh, grassy aroma with mild rosy-geraniol and delicate citrus zest top notes. Cymbopogon martinii comes from the same botanical family as Lemongrass and Citronella and is native to India and Pakistan; it now grows in Africa, Indonesia, Brazil, and the Comoro Islands.1

This is the grass that aspires to be a Rose – and at a fraction of the cost! With its rich distribution of Rose alcohols, Rose esters and Rose aldehydes, Palmarosa is truly underappreciated for both its complex aroma and the generally beneficial properties inherent in this arrangement of molecules. It is useful in skincare, particularly for dry or imbalanced skin, and for this reason is exceptionally beautiful in facial serums and soaps.

Skin sensitization (low risk), a maximum dermal use level of 6.5% is recommended.3 Dilute before using. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.

I smelled it straight from the bottle. It's beautiful - sweet and rosy and comforting, reminiscent of the drink 'bandung' for those who are familiar with that.

I purchased this Palmarosa oil over a year ago, after reading an aromatherapy book which recommended it. I mix this with Bourbon Geranium and add a drop to my night cream (depending on the season, this ranges from heavier shea butter, to lighter coconut oil or jojoba). My skin has become very clear and radiant. I am combination sensitive skin, and always had a few blemishes on my chin and cheeks, especially during my period. This smells lovely to me, with a 'green, fresh' smell, and I also enjoy using it in a diffuser around my home.
