Overview

Lemon - Organic

Our lively organic Lemon essential oil is the epitome of citrus with its intensely-fresh peel aroma and zesty, tangy/tart top note – sure to lift the spirits and perfect for composing introductory/top notes in natural perfumery. Like most citrus peel oils, limonene is the dominant molecule, with supporting roles by a tiny minority of terpenoid volatiles including citral, a star performer in Lemongrass that lends a tangy/tart bite to this aroma.

Citrus limon is native to Asia and is thought to be a hybrid of citron (C. medica) and pomelo (C. maxima).1 The fresh, optimistic aroma is instantly recognizable, like seeing a familiar face in a crowd of strangers. These very personal associations may create impressions that last a lifetime and influence use. The aroma of Lemon is widely used in perfumes, cosmetics, soaps and household products.2 It is wonderful to use in a diffuser while studying or to smell during long drives. Please use Lemon oil on the skin with caution and in low dilution due to the phototoxic effect of citrus oils; cold pressed citrus oils, such as lemon, tend to have a higher risk of phototoxicity than steam distilled citrus oils.

Out of all my lemon oils, this one outlasts the rest when dipped on a paper strip. It also smells extremely clean thought out the whole dry down with no off notes or dirtiness. 10/10

Best Fresh Lemon Scent Review by

This lemon smells just like fresh cut lemons from the tree, unlike other lemon essential oils that smell more candylike. It's also very refreshing and energizing to me. :) I'll definitely be buying again.

Best, most long-lasting lemon Review by

I have tried several different lemon essential oils from different companies. This organic lemon is my favorite. It smells exactly like lemon peel, but without any sour or unpleasant facets. It also lasts a very long time when stored in a dark, dry area. I've had this lemon oil for about six months now, and it has not expired or changed its scent. Citrus oils tend to go "off", so it's pretty remarkable that this one has lasted so long. Very high quality! This is THE lemon for me.

My favorite lemon Review by

Of all the lemon purchases I've tried, this is my all time favorite lemon. The scent has just the right amount of zest and tart to it, but not overwhelming. Other lemons I've tried seemed to have a scent a bit faded in comparison as this one reminds me of a freshly zested lemon. I use it mostly in my son's decongestant diffuser blend of douglas fir, cypress, lemon, and rosalina - it works really well so we all get better sleep. I think it'd also be a great one to use in a morning pick-me-up citrus blend, such a beautiful scent. Thank you for offering this one Eden!

Uplifting and smooth Review by

I was expecting this Organic Lemon to have a sharper scent, and was extremely pleased to discover a much more mellow and reticent side. Blending this with Australian Sandalwood and Tonka Bean produced a harmonious fragrance that wouldn't have been possible with a more pungent lemon. Very versatile!
