Overview
Orris Root (3% Irones) CO2 Select Extract
Orris Root oil is difficult to find and a very expensive oil. Our CO2 (3% irones) extract is blended with a very stable vegetable oil in order to guarantee a minimum, 3% content of irones. A higher irone content is more desirable for use in natural perfumery.
We also carry Orris Root CO2 extracts with 1% and 10% irone content (see above & below).
Orris Root is valued in perfumery for its violet-like aroma and its unique fixative qualities. This oil tends to separate making it a bit more difficult to work with, however, we highly recommended it for those who are looking for this unusual and hard to find oil. It blends best with fixed oils and very well in solid perfumes. It will prove difficult to work with in alcohol. For blending natural perfumes or base accords we recommend our Orris Butter or our Orris Root (10% irones) CO2 extract.
Customer Reviews
- Persistent and Smooth Review by Gorosheeta
- Blended into a solid perfume, this Orris Root CO2 provides a persistent and smooth, woodlike base scent that holds up well under floral middle and top notes. So far, my favorite scent with Orris Root CO2 has included Ylang Ylang and, surprisingly, lemon! (Posted on 2/20/13)
