This portion of our web site is dedicated to fragrant amber, amber perfume, the scent of amber, ambergris and amber oils (of all types).
Amber is a rare, precious and highly sought after scent that is shrouded in mystery. No one really seems to know exactly what amber is – especially the fragrant ambers. In order to help clear up the confusion surrounding amber resin, amber perfume and amber oil, ambergris, etc. we offer this information. Please use the above links to visit specific information on amber resin and amber oil.
You will find on these pages specific information about Eden Botanicals' exclusive wholesale Amber Essence (our trade name for amber resin) and our bulk Premium Dark Amber (another of our exclusive amber resins) which we offer to our customers and to wholesalers, resellers and manufacturers. Additionally, you will find a wealth of information on amber oil – what it is and what it isn’t. We will attempt to clear up the mystery and make the information – as well as the products – easily and readily available.
In addition to amber being used as a term for fragrant amber resin and oil, it is also a term used in the perfume industry to mean the amber “note” that goes into many types of perfumes (such as oriental type perfumes). The amber note originally came from natural ambergris, but now it more typically is obtained from various types of Labdanum extracted from the Cistus or Rockrose plant that grows in the Mediterranean and especially in Spain.
The fragrance of amber (amber accord) which acts as a base note and fixative in perfumes will help to make the perfume last longer on the skin and will impart a delicately sweet yet woody aroma.
