Our Mission
Eden Botanicals is dedicated to bringing joy and happiness into the lives
of our customers through our unique botanical fragrances of exceptional
quality. We seek to incorporate ancient traditions with modern life through
our botanical products, and to build a sense of community and caring through
our responsible business practices. Since 1985, Eden Botanicals has kept
its commitment to providing quality products with personalized care and
detailed attention to our customers needs. At the same time, we have maintained
our focus of providing scented botanicals that have a long tradition of
uplifting the spirit and arousing the senses.
Through our products, people are getting in touch with some of the most
ancient fragrances known to humankind and having fun learning about how
the sense of smell can invigorate us, enhance our mood, help us to relax,
meditate or excite our sensual feelings.

Who We Are
Eden Botanicals is a small company located in the coastal mountains
of Northern California. The company was founded by Neil Miller in 1985
after he spent an extended amount of time in India. Through his travels,
Neil discovered an exceptional amber, which he began to import. The
amber maker was using a fourth generation formula that had been passed
down through his family, and many agreed that it was the best amber
available. Neil named it Amber Essence
to distinguish it from Baltic amber and other varieties of aromatic
amber that were being imported. Today we still import the same Amber
Essence, as well as a full line of crystallized essences made in the
same tradition as the original amber. Eden Botanicals holds the exclusive
importation rights to all of our crystallized essences, and is the only
company in North America with a complete line of fragrances in this
unique form.
The current owner (since 1999) is Will Lapaz, a long time friend of
Neil’s (who now resides with his family in Australia). Will has
a degree in Environmental Studies and a background in the natural healing
arts and environmental consulting. He has studied western and Chinese
herbology, massage and bodywork, iridology, nutrition, tai chi, ashtanga
yoga and meditation and has worked for many years as an environmental
consultant and botanist. His environmental work focused on restoring
native plant habitats ranging from the salt marshes of the San Francisco
Bay to the forests and subalpine meadows of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Currently, in addition to running Eden Botanicals, Will is studying
the art and science of aromatherapy (he is a certified aromatherapist
through the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy) and natural perfumery,
and enjoying the blending of essential oils for their sensual, mood
enhancing, calming and meditative qualities.
